FAQs
What type of aircraft can be listed on PlaneViz?
Any type including GA airplanes, helicopters, business jets, warbirds, turboprops, LSAs, amphibs, agro, kits, gliders, etc. PlaneViz is not for RC aircraft.
How Does the Process Work?
1. A person or business registers for an account and adds one or many aircraft to their account. The ads appear on the site upon approval (a spam safeguard).
2. 3 days before ad expiration the system sends an email notice of impending expiration.
3. The seller signs in to renew the ad (multiple ads may be renewed at once) or does nothing ad the ad expires and is removed from display.
4. Deactivated ads remain available for later use.
Why buy a Premium or Standard listing when the free listing looks exactly the same?
Visibility. Premium and Standard listings are displayed in the home
page slider with Premium taking priority. In the search results,
Premium ads display first, then Standard, then Free.
Home Page location-awareness. PlaneViz uses location to display the home page slider ads. We have divided the US and Canada into regions so that, for example, a visitor in Arizona will see aircraft in the Western states and a New Yorker will see planes in the northeastern US. Site visitors from outside the US/CA see Premium ads from all states and provinces.
Why must at least one
picture be uploaded for each listing?
One or more pictures will enhance the listing and increase the
likelihood of the seller being contacted. All listing types include up
to 8 pictures. Please limit image sizes to 2 Megabytes each.
Can I log in and edit
my
listing(s)?
Sure, you may create, edit, deactivate, renew and pay for listings with our easy to use interface. Deactivated listings disappear from the
search results immediately.
Why must new and edited
listings be reviewed before going live on the site and how long does it
take?
A listing is usually processed within 20 minutes; you’ll get an email
notice
when it becomes active. New and edited listings are processed the same
day if submitted before 10pm ET; otherwise the next day (365 days per
year). Check our Facebook page to see if and why there are any delays
in processing listings.
Listings are checked for accuracy and
to add the occasional useful keyword for expanded search relevance. For
example, a listing for a “Cssna” will be changed to Cessna. A listing
where the seller wrote Beechcraft will have "Beech" added to it behind
the scenes (not visible in the public listing) so that the ad appears when
someone searches for either name.
How much does it cost? We have Free and very reasonably priced Paid options. See our
Listing Options.
